The first edition (2009) was 5-star rated. The 2010 was absolute bottled terroir – the most frequent remark was, ‘That’s delicious – and I don’t like rose!’ Ditto for 2011, 2012 and 2013. Despite being made exactly the same as the previous vintages, the 2015 is uniquely individual, certainly different and rich with flavour and lees-aged texture. Perfect with fish, particularly salmon, or vegetarian options – or just by itself.
A typical, big and boldly-coloured rose with varietal fruit (cherries and raspberries) and spice (black pepper). The Syrah clone grown primarily for rose, matured early with great spice and red berry flavours. Fermented dry, sugar-free and refreshing – its a perfect match with – say – seared scallops and roast tomatoes, salmon etc – or just by itself on the deck at sunset.
