This wine needs no description but it is quite amazing – from an exceptional year and right up with the best examples of its type.
Our 2008 Monte was a champion trophy wine at the Bragato and this wine is certainly its equal – if not better.
It brings dozens of ‘wows’ daily from the tasters in our cellar door.

A typical, massive but silky-smooth, fruit-packed, single vineyard,100% pure single-varietal, Montepulciano from a very good vintage on Waiheke Island. Still very young tannins and just a baby after 9 years of cellar-ageing. Typical dense purple colour and concentrated complex dark plum, blueberry and cassis.
Although still youthfull it is now drinking well with its voluptuous, mouth-filling fine-grained velvety tannins and lingering, complex ‘plum pudding’ fruit flavours.
Bottle-aged to an early intermediate stage. Released in Cellar Door due to heavy demand. This wine can be cellared for at least another 10 years. But enjoy its vibrancy meantime!
